October 7, 2022 (Milwaukee)—Milliman IntelliScript®, an insurtech company with risk assessment solutions for life and health insurers, has acquired OneRecord, a digital healthcare company that empowers consumers to access, aggregate, and share their healthcare data with the people and organizations they trust using standards-based APIs.

OneRecord has two products: a consumer application, called OneRecord, that enables consumers to retrieve their own clinical and financial healthcare information for free, and a business-facing application programming interface, called OneRecord API, that can deliver electronic health records (EHR) and claims data with consent for insurance underwriting and clinical trials.

The purchase of OneRecord positions Milliman IntelliScript to better serve clients who depend on the company’s delivery of digital health and consumer data to mitigate applicant risks, meet customer demand for a faster application process, and extend coverage to more people. It also places Milliman IntelliScript at the forefront of technologies that give consumers input into how, when, and with whom their health data is shared. “We’ve always taken a very collaborative approach to working with our clients, and they’ve told us they want more tools for assessing risk with consumer consent through every stage of their evaluation processes,” says Chris Martin, Principal and Managing Director at Milliman IntelliScript. “Now that we’ve brought in this bundle of talent and assets, we can more quickly develop the additional data-driven products they’ve asked us for while continuing to grow and improve those they rely on now.”

The OneRecord consumer application will remain in operation with its free EHR consolidation service. OneRecord CEO and co-founder Jennifer Blumenthal will join Milliman IntelliScript, where she will further the effort to help patients exercise their right under the 21st Century Cures Act to access and control their health information via consumer-directed exchange. “OneRecord has led the way for consumers to access, manage, and share their health data through an app of their choice,” says Blumenthal. “Our success has brought us to the point where we have to expand to keep serving our users.
