The Cures Act made it illegal for a certain set of Actors to block information unless they met one or more of the criteria for an exception. The ONC was charged with defining this allowable set of exceptions. ONC has also made changes to the 2015 CEHRT criteria that will improve the functionality offered by the certified vendors of EHR technology.
